3 lakh 59 thousand vacant posts in government offices

The government has taken necessary initiatives to fill the vacant posts in the government offices, ministries and directorates.

State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadique said this in the parliament on Monday on behalf of Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam while replying to a star marked question of treasury bench member Morshed Alam.

The State Minister said, at present the number of vacant posts in the government offices, ministries and directorates is 3 lakh 59 thousand 261.

While replying to another question of ruling party parliament member Golam Dastagir Gazi, the state minister said, in the first class (9^th to upper grade) the number of vacant posts is 48 thousand 246, in second class (10 to 12^th grade) the number is 54 thousand 294, in third class (13 to 17^th grade) the number is 1 lakh 82 thousand 737 and in fourth class (18 to 20^th grade) the number is 73 thousand 984.

She said, employment in the vacant posts is a continuous process. Human resources are appointed in the vacant posts of 8^th ,9^th and 10 to 12^th grade through Public Service Commission following demand from different ministries, departments and its organizations.

For the posts from 13 to 20^th grade (3^rd and 4^th class) the appointments are given according to the rules and regulations of concerned ministry, department and organization. AH / MK
