Underground rail from Airport to Kamalapur

The government has taken initiatives to construct nearly 20 kilometers underground metro rail from Airport to Kamalapur in the capital.

The information came in while answering a written question of ruling party Member of Parliament M Abdul Latif in the question answering session of Jatiya Sangsad on Tuesday.

The question was placed in the session presided over by Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.

Although the Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader is undergoing treatment in Singapore at present but the answer was prefixed.

In the prefixed written answer the Bridges Minister informed that the number of total stations (underground) will be 12 and 7 will be elevated. Natun Bazar and Jamuna Future Park stations will be constructed underground as part of airport route. There will be interchange option at Natun Bazar station. Using this interchange people can commute from Airport to Purbachal route and from Purbachal to Airport route.

In the written answer the minister also informed that underground rail stoppage will be at Airport-Airport terminal 3-Khilkhet-Jamuna Future Park-Natun Bazar-Uttar Badda-Badda-Hatirjheel-Rampura-Malibag-Rajarbag-Kamalapur. The total length of the route is 19.87 kilometers.
