IOM Director General Amy Pope is coming to Dhaka
United Nations International Organization of Migration (IOM) Director General Amy Pope is coming to Dhaka. She is coming to visit Bangladesh on Sunday (May 5). Migration and Rohingya issues will be prominent during her visit.
It is known that the heads of various United Nations organizations will visit Dhaka on the occasion of 50 years of relations. The visit begins with IOM Director General Amy Pope. According to the sources in the Ministry of Foreign affairs, IOM Director General will visit Bangladesh from May 5-9. Amy will begin her tour by visiting a Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar.
According to Diplomatic sources, Natalia Kanem, the Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) will visit Dhaka in the middle of this month. Apart from this, Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary General of International Maritime Organization is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at the end of this month.
During the visit to Dhaka, IOM Director General have a courtesy call with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud. Amy will also hold a meeting with Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Minister Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury.
