Thunderstorms in the 7 regions up to 60 km per hour
The Meteorological Department has predicted a storm with a maximum speed of 60 km over seven regions of the country. Along with that, there may be rain with thunder, the agency said that the river ports in these areas have been asked to show warning signal number 1.
This information was revealed in a forecast given for the inland river ports of the country till 1 pm on Saturday (May 4)
According to the notification signed by Meteorologist Md. Omar Farooq, gusty or gale force winds may blow over Mymensingh, Cumilla, Barishal, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions from west or north-west at a speed of 45 to 60 km per hour. At this time there may be rain or thunder.
Meanwhile, the forecast of the Meteorological Department shows that the heatwave may continue in most parts of the country on Saturday. Daytime temperature may remain as warm as Friday. Night temperature is also expected to increase. However, there may be rain with gusty winds in some parts of the country. Along with this, there may be a hailstorm in some districts. Storms and rains will instantly bring down the temperature in the affected area but not for long.
The Meteorological Department recorded the highest temperature at 41.8°C in Jessore on Friday. On this day, the country's lowest temperature of 16.1°C was recorded at Tetulia in Panchagarh. Apart from this, maximum temperature of 38.1°C and minimum temperature of 25°C was recorded in Dhaka.
