Bangladesh to strengthen ties with EU: FM

Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud has said Bangladesh's relations with the European Union (EU) in conventional and non-conventional areas including global terrorism, connectivity, blue economy, circular economy will be further strengthened.

Hasan Mahmud said this while speaking as the chief guest at the Independence and National Day reception program in Brussels on Monday (April 29) local time.

He said Bangladesh is working unitedly with the EU. Our goal is to ensure peace and development for future generations and to uphold the values of humanity around the world.

He said Bangladesh and EU are working for a broader partnership in future with emphasis on knowledge, skill development, innovation and employment generation.

"Bangladesh and the EU are working closely together on a number of issues, including democracy, secularism, justice, equality, women empowerment and human rights, which continue to strengthen the existing partnership," Hasan Mahmud added.
