Educational Institutions reopening, some instructions to be followed

A severe heatwave is blowing throughout the country. Considering the situation, the Meteorological Department has issued a 'heat alert'. Meanwhile, all educational institutions of the country are opening today. Classes are going on as usual in secondary schools, colleges, madrasas and technical institutes. Primary schools have also been opened with some changes in the schedule. However, some precautionary measures are being taken in opening educational institutions.

Though schools and colleges are open from today, there are some instructions. Morning shift in primary will be from 8 am to 9.30 am and the second shift will be from 10.30 am to 11.30 am. But pre-primary will be closed. And assembly will not take place until the heatwave drops. The information was given in the press release from the ministry on Saturday.

Shah Shamim Ahmed, associate professor of Dhaka University IER department said that there is no problem with this decisioin of the ministry. However, care must be taken to ensure that students do not suffer in heat. Cold water, adequate ventilation should be provided. No one should get sick.
