Noakhali housewife molestation: HC orders for security to victim’s family

The High Court on Monday ordered local Police Super to provide adequate security to the family members of the victim housewife who was stripped to naked and beaten severely by some miscreants at Begumganj in Noakhali district.

Besides, the High Court ordered to form a three-member investigation committee to look into the matter comprising principal of local government college and social service officer. The court also directed the additional deputy commissioner of police to submit a report within 15 days in this connection.

The High Court bench (virtual) of Justice Md. Mojibur Rahman Mia and Justice Mohiuddin Shamim delivered the order while taking the hearing of a petition.

Supreme Court Bar Association president AM Amin Uddin and secretary Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajol, Advocate Z I Khan Panna, Yadia Zaman, Tanjim Al Islam, Abdullah al Mamun and AM Zamiul Haque Faisal took part in the hearing.

According to the FIR report of the case, on September 2, at around 9 pm at Khalpar area under number 9 ward of Ekhlashpur union of Begumganj upazila, local miscreant Badal and his associates entered the house of Nur Islam Mia and tied him up in the next room. They then tried to rape the housewife. As the house wife prevented them the miscreants stripped her naked, beat her severely and recorded the video on mobile phone.

In this regard Noakhali Police Super Md. Alamgir Hossain said, nobody associated with the molestation will be spared. To arrest the accused and to provide legal assistance to the victim’s family five units of police are working in the field.
