GK Shamim granted bail, state lawyer unaware

Expelled Jubo League leader SM Golam Kibria Shamim alias GK Shamim was granted six months bail by the High court in connection with arms case. But the state lawyer does not know anything about the bail. GK Shamim was granted bail on February 6.

In this regard lawyer representing the state Fazlur Rahman Khan said that he knows nothing about the bail. It will be known on Sunday that how he got the bail.

On September 20, 2019 during the anti-casino drive Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted a drive at Shamim’s house at Niketan in Gulshan. They found cash worth 2 crore taka, FDR worth 200 crore taka, 8 firearms and wine in the house.

At that time Shamim and his 7 body guards were arrested. On the following day RAB filed three cases with Gulshan police station under arms, money laundering and narcotics act.
