Jessore, Chuadanga record highest temp at 42.8°C

Severe to very severe heat wave has been sweeping over Chuadanga and Jashore for several days.

The maximum temperature in the two districts was recorded at 42.8 degrees Celsius at 3 pm on Wednesday (May 1).

Earlier on Tuesday (April 30), the highest temperature was recorded at 43.7 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga.

On the same day, the highest temperature of the country was recorded at 43.8 degrees Celsius in Jessore. This is the highest temperature recorded in the country's history since 1973. Earlier, the highest temperature was recorded in Jessore at 43.2 degrees Celsius in 2009.

Severe to very severe heat wave has been sweeping across the country since April 12. Due to the intense heatwave, the administration has advised the public to follow the hygiene rules.

Amirul Azad, officer-in-charge of Khulna Weather Observatory office, said the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 42.8 degrees Celsius at 3pm.

Meanwhile, the intense heatwave that has been going on for the last few days has disrupted the public life of the common people.
