Bangladesh soldiers to participate India’s Republic Day Parade

A contingent of 122 proud soldiers of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, recently departed for India in a specially sent IAF C-17 aircraft. The contingent will participate in India’s Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on 26 January 2021.

This is only the third time in India’s history that any foreign military contingent has been invited to participate in this National Parade at Rajpath in Central Delhi. It is especially significant as the year 2021 marks 50 years of the Liberation War, through which Bangladesh emerged as a vibrant nation, free from the yoke of tyranny and oppression.

The Forces which fought and bled together 50 years ago, will now proudly march down the Rajpath.The Bangladesh contingent will carry forward the legacy of the brave Muktijoddhas, who fought for freedom, justice and their people. The Bangladesh Armed Forces contingent comprises Soldiers of the Bangladesh Army, Sailors of the Bangladesh Navy and Air Warriors of the Bangladesh Air Force.

A majority of the soldiers in Bangladesh contingent come from the most distinguished units of the Bangladesh Army, comprising of 1,2,3,4,8,9,10 & 11 East Bengal Regiments and 1,2 and 3 Field Artillery Regiments, who have the distinct honour of fighting and winning the 1971 Liberation War.

The Parade will be broadcast live, worldwide, on January 26, 2021.

RAB arrests chief coordinator of KNF

Cheosim Bawm, the local chief coordinator of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), was arrested in a special operation in Bandarban. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested him on Sunday (April 7) afternoon. RAB-15 Commander Lt Col HM Sajjad confirmed the matter. HM Sajjad said that Cheosim, son of the deceased Rowal Bom. He has a close relation with Nathan Bawm. We are interrogating him. Besides, the operation is also going on. It is hoped that the location and plans of others will be known. Earlier on Tuesday night, a armed group of Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) attacked Sonali Bank in Bandarban's Ruma and looted cash including 14 weapons.

Brazil to help Bangladesh for BRICS membership

Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira has assured of extending all-out support to Bangladesh for its keen interest in becoming a BRICS member. Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira held a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud at the state guest house Jamuna on Sunday (April 7) afternoon. More than 2m SIM card holders left the capital in 2 days

More than 20 lakh mobile phone SIM holders have left the capital in the last two days. This information has been found in the sources of mobile phone operators. Each SIM card has a code known as an IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) which uniquely identifies the SIM card itself. SIM holders are meant to be different people (unique user). They may be accompanied by elderly men, women and children, who do not use cell phones. As a result, it is difficult to get an estimate of how many people have actually left Dhaka.
