3 more survivors of US-Bangla plane crash return home

Mehedi Hasan, Almun Nahar Annie and Saiyada Kamrunnahar Swarna-the three injured in the deadly US-Bangla aircraft accident in Nepal, were brought back to the country for treatment. Earlier on Thursday the other injured Shahreen returned home.

The three survivors were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) directly from the Shahjalal International Airport. They were brought to Dhaka on a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Friday afternoon.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal received them at the airport.

The injured three were undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College. They were brought back after obtaining discharge certificate from the hospital.

The five relatives from Nagar Hawla village of Sreepur from Gazipur were in the aircraft that crashed in the Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport on 12 March. They are-Mehedi Hasan, his wife Kamrunnahar Swarna; Faruk Ahmed and his wife Almun Nahar Annie and their child Priyanmoyee Tamara. Of them Faruk Ahmed and his child Tamara died in the accident.

Of the ten Bangladeshi survivors, Rizwanul Haque was taken to Singapore by his father Mozammel Haque from Om hospital in Nepal.

On Thursday afternoon a patient named Yakub Ali was shifted to Delhi for better treatment.

The deadly plane crash left 51 people dead and more 20 were also injured.

Meanwhile, special prayers were offered throughout the country for salvation of the departed souls and for early recovery of the injured people. Earlier on Thursday the nation observed one day mourn.
