Separate boat capsize in Rangamati lake; 5 killed, 3 missing

Five dead bodies were recovered and three people were missing in two separate tourists laden boats capsize in Rangamati lake.

Police said, a boat full of tourists capsized at DC Banglo area while it was heading towards Subolong from Rangamati hanging bridge area. Local people rushed for salvage work and recovered five dead bodies. It is known that the deceased were the workers of Chattogram Pacific Jeans Garments.

On the other hand, three people including two children were missing when a boat carrying 53 devotees of Iskon capsized at Kolar Depo area in the Kaptai lake. The missing persons are-Tumpa Majumder (30), Deblila (10) and Binoy (5). Local administration is conducting the rescue operation.

Additional Police Super of Rangamati Sufiullah told Rtv online, five dead bodies were recovered in connection with two separate boat capsize incidents. Three are still missing.
