Attack on Dr. Kamal’s motorcade

EC writes to IGP seeking report within three days

The Election Commission (EC) has ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) to submit the investigation report to EC within three days over the incident of attack on Dr. Kamal Hossain’s motorcade at the national mausoleum.

In this regard a letter signed by EC Joint Secretary Abul Kashem was sent to IGP on Monday.

EC Joint Secretary Abul Kashem confirmed the matter to Rtv online.

Earlier, BNP candidate from Dhaka-2 constituency Irfan Ibne Aman Omi complained to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) accompanied by his injured activists. He filed complain saying that he was under attack while going election campaign in his electoral area.

The complain Irfan said that he is the Oikyafront nominated candidate for Dhaka-2 constituency. On Monday when he went for election campaign at Amin Bazar in Savar, then with an attempt to kill him OC of Savar police station and Awami League terrorists attacked them and vandalized vehicles. Many of his leaders-activists were injured in the attack even police arrested some people. He demanded release of the leaders-activists. He also sought better treatment for the activists and compensation for the vandalized vehicles.

Irfan also mentioned in the written demands, earlier I have filed complain in this regard but did not get any remedy from the CEC.
