Kiron elected FIFA, AFC member again

In the 29th Asian Football Confederation (AFC) congress Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) women wing chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron was elected member of AFC women executive committee. She defeated her lone competitor in the south zone Mariam Mohammed of Maldives by 31-15 votes which was held on Saturday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In the election Kiron was also elected Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) council member. The BFF executive committee member was elected for both the posts in the previous term.

Meanwhile, Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa of Bahrain was elected as AFC president without contest. He was reelected in the post. He is also discharging his duty as vice-president of FIFA at present.
