Omor Faruk Chowdhury removed from Jubo League

Jubo League chairman Omor Faruk Chowdhury has been removed from the party. The decision was taken at the party meeting on Sunday evening.

There was allegation of corruption against 71 years old Omor Faruk Chowdhury. He was in the lime light from beginning of the anti casino drive.

Prime Minister and Bangladesh Awami League president Sheikh Hasina took the decision at the central committee meeting of Jubo League held at Ganabhaban in the capital on Sunday evening.

The meeting started at 5 pm at the Ganabhaban. Omor Faruk Chowdhury, presidium member Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shawon, Sheikh Fazlur Rahman Maruf and Sheikh Atiur Rahman were not invited in the meeting. In absence of the chairman Jubo League joint general secretary M Harunur Rashid led the delegation.

It was known that discussions were held about the forthcoming congress and to recover the image of the organization. Recently some central leaders were expelled from the organization over allegation of their involvement in anti social activities.
