BNP’s Rumeen Farhana submits nomination paper for reserved seat

BNP has nominated its Assistant International Affairs Secretary Rumeen Farhana for the reserved women seat in the Jatiya Sangsad.

She submitted her nomination paper to the Returning Officer and Election Commission Joint Secretary Abul Kashem at the commission on Monday noon.

Returning Officer Abul Kashem told the newsmen, today was the last day of submitting nomination papers for the reserved seat for women in the Jatiya Sangsad.

Scrutinize of nomination papers will be held on Tuesday and the last date of withdrawal of nomination paper is May 28.

If nobody submits nomination papers on Monday and if Barrister Rumeen Farhana does not withdraw her nomination paper within May 28 then after the stipulated time she will be declared elected without contest.

There are BNP’s five Members of Parliament in the Jatiya Sangsad. According to that they can nominate one member for the reserved seat. Monday was the last day of submitting nomination papers for that seat.

In the eleventh national parliament election Rumeen Farhana sought nomination from Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail-Ashuganj) constituency. But Ukil Abdus Sattar was given the nomination in that constituency.
