‘Green Festival’ celebrated in Zunheboto

The first of its kind in Nagaland, “Green Festival” was celebrated at multipurpose hall Zunheboto under the theme “Seizing the Silver Dream” in aid of beautifying Zunheboto.

The “Green Festival” is a charity event organised by Miss Sumi 2022 Silver Queens in collaboration with the Sumi Totimi Loka Zunheboto (STLZ).

The district administration wherein the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” and “Nasha Mukt Bharat” campaign were launched by DC Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali and SP Zunheboto, Vishal Chauhan.

A press release from media cell of the organisers informed that the formal occasion was graced by IGP PHQ, Joseph Hesso as the special guest.

Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the organizers for the initiative and urged the gathering to join hands in saving the environment at this heated juncture.

The Silver Queens launched its first-ever Beauty with a purpose project, “The Silver Vision”, on September 29, 2022, with a vision to promote “Beautification, Sanitation and Recycling” in Zunheboto.

The project was started to give people a subtle reminder that their environment needs them as much as they need it and initiated to bring environmental revival in the society.

It may be mentioned that the Silver Vision was not only the vision of The Silver Queens but the collective vision of all concerned citizens and youths of Zunheboto.

Therefore, the works undertaken by the Silver Vision are long termed, and it requires the participation of the community.

All the sectors of Zunheboto actively competed to promote Beautification, Sanitation and Recycling in their respective sectors.

This project aims to turn this practice into a lifestyle and they fought for the silver dream and the competition came to fruition on the “Green Festival” wherein Southpoint west sector emerged as the model sector.

The “Green Festival” began with a plantation drive and proceeded with a formal session on the official day of the event in the morning, followed by a music festival in the evening.

Renowned Sümi artistes like Nikato Tamang, Psycho K4, Aloboli Kinimi, Kivika Achumi, Kihikali Rotokha, Mughato Achumi, Atto, Atiro Kiho, Naga Kheks and Elliote Awomi made the event more purposeful and thrilling.
