No HSC, equivalent exams this year: Dipu Moni

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said, the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, which were suspended earlier due to coronavirus pandemic situation in the country, will not be held directly. The students will be evaluated following the results of JSC and SSC examinations.

The minister delivered the information through a online press conference on Wednesday afternoon. She also said that results will be published by December after evaluation.

Dipu Moni said, we have decided to evaluate in a different way by not taking the direct examinations. Those who are HSC examinees have come through passing two public examinations-JSC and SSC. We have decided to evaluate considering the results of those two examinations. We will evaluate the HSC examinations based on the average of JSC and SSC results.

Mentionable, educational institutions of the country have been closed since March 17 due to the outbreak of coronavirus throughout the world. HSC examinations were scheduled to hold from April 1 but it was suspended due to coronavirus.

Discussions were going on among the policy makers whether the examinations can be taken in the second week of November. At last the decision of not taking the HSC examinations has come on behalf of the education ministry.
