HC orders Green Line to pay crash victim Rassel Tk 20 lakh more

The High Court has ordered Green Line Paribahan to pay crash victim Rassel Taka 20 lakh more as compensation within three months. Owner of the Green Line Paribahan has been asked to pay the amount.

The High Court bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader delivered the verdict on Thursday declaring the rule issued earlier in this regard as appropriate.

Earlier, the High Court fixed the date today to deliver verdict in connection with the rule to provide private car driver Rassel taka one crore. Rassel lost one of his legs as a bus of Green Line Paribahan ran over him.

Khandekar Shamsul Haque Reza took part in the hearing for Rassel while Advocate Shah Manjurul Haque represented Green Line Paribahan.

The hearing over the rule regarding the matter of compensation completed on March 5. On April 28, 2018 private car driver Rassel’s left leg was severed as a bus of Green Line Paribahan ran over him on Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover in the capital.

In this connection former ruling party MP Advocate Umme Kulsum Smriti filed a writ petition. The High Court issued rule in this regard on May 14 asking why not Rassel will not be paid taka one crore as compensation.
