Yet to receive written complain, action if filed: DU Proctor

Dhaka University Proctor, Professor AKM Golam Rabbani said, nobody filed written complain to me over the incidents of attack on quota reform agitators that happened at the university campus on Saturday and Monday. Action will be taken if anybody files the written complain.

He said these to the newsmen and students present at his arts building office on Tuesday.

Earlier at around 12 pm the anti repression students confined him. After being confined for about 30 minutes he got out of his room.

In response to a question of after how many attacks would you think yourself as a failed person, the Proctor said, after Eid vacation the university opened on July 1. The classes resumed from Monday. I am working on how to maintain the educational atmosphere. Probe committee was formed over the attack on students on January 23. Action was taken accordingly. Find out and identify the people seem to be threat for the university, we will go for action against them.

When students asked what will happen after arrest of Rashed and Nur Hossain Nur, the Proctor left the place without answering.

Earlier, the anti repression students formed human chain in front of Aparajeyo Bangla protesting the attack on students.

On Monday morning when quota reform agitators tried to gather at the central Shaheed Minar premises then Chhatra League activists attacked on them. They dispersed the gathering by force. A number of students were injured in the incident. Two were admitted in Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Joint Convener of Bangladesh General Students Rights Protection Forum Nurul Haque was severely assaulted over the incident of attack by Chhatra League on agitating students who demand quota reformation in government service. He is a post graduate student of English department of Dhaka University.

The forum leaders were demanding Prime Minister’s declaration of no quota system in government service issuing as a gazette notification. Earlier they were in movement demanding quota reformation.
