Quota reform movement leader Rashed arrested under ICT act

Quota reform movement leader Rashed Khan was shown arrest in a case filed under Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act with Shahbag police station in the capital.

Officer in Charge of Shahbag police station Abul Hasan confirmed the matter to Rtv online. He said, there is a case against Rashed Khan under ICT act. He was shown arrest under the case.

Earlier, allegation came in as Detective Branch (DB) police picked up quota reform movement leader Rashed Khan.

He was picked up from his residence at Mirpur at around 12:30 pm on Sunday.

Central leader of quota reform movement Faruk Hasan told Rtv online, Rashed was picked up from house number 12 of Majumder intersection under Mirpur section-14. DB police picked him up. We tried to communicate with DB.

On Saturday Bangladesh Chhatra League attacked on the students associated with ongoing quota reform movement. At least six leaders including Nurul Haque of the General Students’ Rights Protection Forum were injured in the attack.

Protesting the attack, the students’ council at 11 am on Sunday called for forming human chain in all universities and colleges of the country excluding Dhaka University. It also called demonstration in all educational institutions on Monday.
