University convocation is a significant event in the University life of a undergraduate and postgraduate student. It marks the end of their academic journey as well as the beginning of their professional career.

Students wear academic regalia at convocation, which consists of a cap, gown, and hood. The graduates are overjoyed as they receive their degrees at the convocation.

Every year the students will pass from the university, then they will get convocation. This is the usual rule. Though convocation is not conduct every year, it is held every few years at several universities.

However, the convocation of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University is not held every year and does not maintain the rules. The convocation ceremony was held only once on April 19, 2017.

Until the academic year 2010-11, the inaugural convocation of 2017 received a total of 5 batches. Following that, at least seven batches are scheduled to meet. The most recent graduation was completed in the academic year 2017-18.

Graduates are disappointed about that they did not receive convocation.

According to Section 9 (1) of the Nazrul University Act 2006, the President shall preside over the convocation. However, if he wants, he can send someone else to preside over the convocation.

Convocation processions, speeches by renowned guests, degree conferment, and degree reception are all traditional. The royal summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude are some of the academic honors.

But, Nazrul University has forgotten about this tradition. Many people are unaware about that thing. We, the student of Nazrul University, want the second convocation to take place as soon as possible.
