India signs deal with Russia for attainment of AK-203 assault rifles

Indian defense minister Rajnath Singh and his Russian counterpart General Sergey Shoigu inked an agreement for attainment of over six lakh AK-203 assault rifles through an agreement on military-technical cooperation from 2021-2031 and Indo-Russia rifles Pvt ltd.

On Monday, India and Russia inked contract for the procurement of AK-203 assault rifles and protocols on amending cooperation in the field of Kalashnikov series small arms production.

Singh expressed hope that the agreements will bring peace and stability to the whole region. The defense minister also said on twitter, ‘India deeply acknowledge and appreciates Russians support for India. We hope cooperation between these great two nations will bring peace, stability and prosperity.

During the first-ever 2+2 interministerial dialogue between India and Russia, Rajnath said that the defense cooperation between the two nations have progressed in an unprecedented way.

Rajnath Singh hopes that Russia will remain one of the key partner of India tackling the circumstances.
