Eight get ‘Joya Enlightened Women’ award

The popular private television channel Rtv has paid honor to eight majestic women on the occasion of international women’s day.

In a gorgeous program held at Pan Pacific Hotel Sonargaon on Friday evening the honor was given to the women for their role in different fields for the sixth time.

The recipients of ‘Joya Enlightened Women-2018’ honor are: Professor Dr. Sayeba Akter in medical science, Shahin Samad in music, Rubi Rahman in literature, Professor Dr. Hosne Ara Begum in social service, Mouluda Khanam in Arts, Parvin Mahmud FCA in women’s empowerment, Nasrin Sultana in challenging occupation and Ankhi Khatun in sports.

In his welcome speech in the program Rtv Chairman Alhaj Morshed Alam MP said, the half of the world population is women and the rest is men. Women are contributing for social development in different ways. Rtv is very delighted to provide honor to these majestic women. Thanks to all who have patronized the event.

In the program Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said, the women of the country are moving ahead keeping pace with the world. Our Prime Minister is a woman. She always pays emphasize on the matter of women development. Women are operating planes, driving trains and where they are not available? They are performing their duties in the parliament with dignity. Beside huge number of women are working in the garments sector.

He also said, everybody beyond party and opinion should have to come forward to act against women repression. Women should have to be encouraged for making their way easy. The country will move forward along with the development of women.

Reputed singer Abida Sultana performed songs in the ‘Joya Enlightened Women-2018’ program. Dances were performed by Nipun, Mehzabin Chowdhury, Safa Kabir and Toya. A fashion runway also was decorated based on love letters of world’s famous 8 couples.
