Gold prices reduce in local markets

As the prices of gold have gone downward trends in the international markets, the prices of gold in the local markets have been reduced by three thousand taka per bhori. The new prices will be effective from tomorrow (Thursday).

The information was delivered through a press release of Bangladesh Jewelers Samity (BAJUS) on Wednesday.

The release said, considering the international recession, fallen prices of dollar and oil and unprecedented ups and downs in the gold markets, BAJUS has fixed the new prices of gold and silver in the country from August 13.

According to the new declaration the price of 22 carat gold per bhori is fixed at 73 thousand 716 taka which was 77 thousand 200 taka till Wednesday.

The price of 21 carat gold fixed at 70 thousand 567 taka per bhori which was 74 thousand 66 taka till Wednesday.

Besides, price of 18 carat gold per bhori is fixed at 61 thousand 819 taka which was 65 thousand 318 taka per bhori till Wednesday.

According to the old method the price of gold is fixed at 51 thousand 497 taka. The price of 21 carat per bhori silver remains unchanged 933 taka.
