Private research organization Center for Policy Dialogue-CPD’s fellow Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya said, of the distributed total loan, 51 per cent default loan is in the state owned banks and 47 per cent is in the private banks. In this reality country’s economy is heading towards a helpless, panicked and terrible fragile condition.

He said this at a press conference organized on formation of proposed banking commission at a hotel in the capital on Saturday.

Dr. Debapriya said, discipline in banking sector cannot be restored by forming commission until there is necessary political willingness.

CPD also urged for independent, inclusive and reality based transparent efforts by the commission to bring back the laundered money as well as reducing the default loan.
