City Corporation increases meat prices in Ramadan

The government has fixed the prices of meat keeping ahead the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. In Ramadan price of beef of local cow is fixed highest 525 taka per kilogram. Price of mutton is fixed at 750 taka per kilogram.

Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon deliverd the information on Monday after holding a meeting with meat traders at Nagar Bhaban in the capital.

Last year in Ramadan beef of local cow was sold at 450 taka per kilogram. So according to the calculation the price has been increased by 75 taka per kilogram.

In the meeting price of beef of Indian white bolder cow variety was fixed at 500 taka per kilogram, buffalo meat at 480 taka, mutton at 750 taka and price of sheep meat was fixed at 650 taka per kilogram.

At that time Mayor Sayeed Khokon said to the businessmen, you should abide by the taken decision. If anybody charges price more that the fixed rate then Mobile Court of City Corporation will take action against them. Meat will also be sold in the super shops in these fixed rates.
