Sinha murder happened in one or two minutes: Colonel Tofael

Additional Director General of RAB Colonel Tofael Mostafa Sarwar said, the incident of retired Major Sinha murder is being analyzed deeply. The incident of opening gun fire on Sinha was happened within one or two minutes. We are analyzing every second of that two minutes. Every second is important. We have also collected many evidences of the incident.

He said these to the newsmen after visiting the killing spot at Shamlapur check post under Teknaf upazila on Friday afternoon.

When asked about what kind of information you have got, Tofael Mostafa Sarwar said, it is a very sophisticated and important case. The Investigation Officer along with the accused has come to the spot as part of the investigation. So, nothing would be good to say at this moment. It may hamper the investigation process. The task will be done in such manner that no perpetrator is protected and no innocent is punished. The incident happened in two minutes and we are analyzing every moment of that period.

RAB legal and media wing Director Lt. Colonel Ashik Billah, RAB intelligence Director Sarwar Bin Kashem, RAB-15 Commander Azim Ahmed and Investigation Officer of the case Senior ASP of RAB Khairul Islam were present at that time.

Mentionable, retired Major Sinha Md. Rashed Khan was killed by police firing at around 10 pm on 31st July at the APBN check post at Shamlapur under Baharchhara union of Teknaf. Sinha’s sister Shahriar Sharmin Ferdous filed a case with the court on August 5 accusing nine police members including former Teknaf OC Pradeep Kumar Das and Baharchhara investigation center in-charge Liakat Ali. RAB was given the charge of investigation in this case.
