Two brothers held for running scandalous casino business

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested two casino businessmen brothers- Gendaria unit Awami League vice president Enamul Haque Enu and general secretary Rupon Bhuiyan.

The two brothers were arrested while conducting a drive in the capital on Monday. Additional Police Super of CID media wing Faruk Hossain delivered the information.

The law enforcement agency said, Enu and Rupon are the ringleader of casino business of Wanderers Club in Motijheel. Locally their family is identified as ‘gambler family’.

Local Awami League leaders said, at least 9 members of their family are holding political posts of the organization. Although they are not active in politics. Holding the party posts they are involved in different misdeeds including gambling.

During the drive on September 24 last year, RAB recovered cash worth five crore four lakh 90 thousand taka, 720 bhoris of gold ornaments, six firearms and 18 rounds of bullets after breaking five volts of the two brothers and their associates. Later 15 houses were found owned by them in old Dhaka area. Besides they have land properties mentioning names and unnamed.
