3 of a family killed in Mymensingh road crash

Three members of a family were killed and three others injured as a microbus carrying them turned turtle on Sherpur upazila road in Mymensingh district on Thursday.

The accident happened in Alalpur area on Fhulpur-Sherpur regional road in the morning.

The deceased were identified as Hamid Member, 60, his wife Sahera Begum, 55 and Shafiqul Islam, 40. All of the victims hailed from Sherpur.

Kotwali Police Station OC Mahmudul Islam said six people were heading to Dhaka by a private car. The driver lost control over its streering and the car upturned in the area, leaving tree people of the same family died on the spot and three others wounded.

He also said that the bodies were recovered and kept in the hospital morgue.

The injured - Nuruddin Ahmed, son of Abdul Hamid, his daughter Fatema Begum and driver of microbus Kawser Ahmed - were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, the OC added.
