Tarique Rahman’s APS Apu arrested

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s APS Mia Nuruddin Apu was arrested in connection with the cases filed against him under money laundering and anti terrorism act. He was associated with the incident of recovering eight crore taka cash during campaign of eleventh national parliament election.

RAB-1 arrested him in United Hospital in the capital on Friday. Apu is undergoing treatment in that hospital.

RAB-1 Commanding Officer Lt. Colonel Sarwar Bin Qashem confirmed the matter to the media.

According to RAB-1 source, Apu is undergoing treatment in the cabin number 503 in United Hospital. His treatment will go under RAB custody. He was shown arrest in the eight crore taka recover case.

On December 25 three persons were arrested along with eight crore 15 lakh taka cash after conducting a drive at a firm named United Corporation situated on the 26th floor of City Center at Motijheel in the capital.

The arrested were- businessman Ali Haidar, Managing Director of export-import and contractor firm United Corporation, Joynal of Amena Enterprise from Gulshan and Alamgir Hossain, Office Manager of United Corporation. Of them Joynal was an employee of ‘Hawa Bhaban’.

Nuruddin Apu took part in the eleventh national parliament election with symbol sheaf of paddy from Shariatpur-3 constituency. There Awami League candidate Nahim Razzak was elected bagging 2 lakh 72 thousand 18 votes. Apu got 2 thousand 664 votes.
