65 platoons BGB to be deployed in City election

65 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members will be deployed in field during the two Dhaka City Corporation elections. They will discharge their duties two days before and after of the voting day.

On Monday, election management department of Election Commission said, in Dhaka north city 27 platoons of BGB will perform their responsibilities as striking force while 38 platoons will be deployed in Dhaka south city areas.

In Dhaka north city election, the number of general wards 54, reserved 18, number of total vote centers 1 thousand 318, number of total voting booths 7 thousand 846, number of total voters 30 lakh 10 thousand 273. Of them number of male voters 15 lakh 49 thousand 567 and female 14 lakh 60 thousand 706.

In Dhaka south city election, the number of general wards 75, reserved 25, total number of voting centers 1 thousand 150, total voting booths 6 thousand 588, total number of voters 24 lakh 53 thousand 194. Of them number of male voters 12 lakh 93 thousand 441 and female 11 lakh 59 thousand 753.

On the voting day 16 different law enforcement agency members will be deployed in each general center while 18 members will be in each important center.
