Circular rail service in Dhaka to avert traffic jam
To avert traffic congestion circular rail service is going to be started in capital Dhaka. In this regard the government has signed agreements with four companies to conduct feasibility study.
The agreements were signed at Rail Bhaban in the capital on Tuesday. The tenure of the agreements is one year.
According to the agreements the companies have to complete their survey works within April 2020.
The cost is estimated at 24 crore 56 lakh 63 thousand taka.
With which companies the railway authority has signed agreements are: China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group Company Limited. The two Bangladeshi companies are- BETS Consulting Service Limited and Engineers and Advisers Limited (EAL), Bangladesh.
Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, railway ministry Secretary Md. Mofazzal Hossain, railway Director General Kazi Rafiqul Alam and officials of concerned companies were present in the agreement signing program.
At that time Railway Minister said, we are conducting study over the matter. This line is fixed centering the flood control embankment surrounding Dhaka. There is urgency from the government in this regard.
