More than 6 hundred extremists surrender in Pabna

To return to the path of normal life more than six hundred extremists of south-western region's 15 districts have surrendered.

The extremists surrendered to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal by handing over their arms at around 3 pm on Tuesday at a program organized by Pabna district police at Shaheed Amin Uddin Stadium.

After being involved in the life of terrorism the outlaws were isolated from their family members. There was no peace in their uncertain lives. So they have decided to return to the normal life.

In the program Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, those who joined the extremist organizations after being misguided, now they are surrendering in response to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's call. All including pirates, drug peddlers and extremists are surrendering one by one. Do not compare our police force with the force of ten years back. Because the law enforcement agencies of Bangladesh are very efficient. None can do terrorist activities by dodging their eyes. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has provided financial grants for the people who have surrendered. These people will be allowed to return in normal life through ensuring legal assistance.

More than six hundred extremists of 22 groups from Rajbari, Khulna, Satkhira, Faridpur, Bagerhat, Jashore, Pabna, Natore, Sirajganj, Bogura, Rangpur, Joypurhat, Naogaon and Tangail districts surrendered in the program.

There are cases in connection with murder, robbery, explosives and arms filed against the surrendered outlaws. They are police listed terrorists. Their regular cases will continue though they have surrendered.

Trains can run at a maximum speed of 250 kilometers per hour on this dual gauge bridge. Total 49 pillars out of 50 pillars of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Rail Bridge has been completed and only one pillar is yet to be installed.

Govt to recruit 10000 primary teachers by June

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education, Rumana Ali said that the recruitment of 10,000 primary teachers will be completed by June this year. She said this while visiting Comilla Victoria Government College center in the third phase of primary teacher recruitment examination of Dhaka and Chattogram divisions. First consignment of Indian onions arrives

The first consignment of 1,650 tonnes of onion from India has arrived on Sunday (March 31) through the Darshana land port in Bangladesh. Mirza Quamrul Hasan, manager of Darshana International land port, said the first consignment of onions imported by Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has been received at around 5:30 pm. A fire broke out in the garage of a Volvo bus in the capital's Demra area. Six units of fire service are working to control the fire. For security measures, transactions at six branches of Sonali Bank in Bandarban have been halted until the situation is under control.

A fire breaks out at a jute mill of Salam Jute Mills in Khulna's Rupsha. Eighteen units of fire service are working to to control the blaze.
