Mymensingh City Corporation election on May 5

The Election Commission (EC) has declared the election schedule for newly formed Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC). Voting will take place on May 5. The decision was taken at the 46th meeting of the commission on Monday. Later EC Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed declared the election schedule.

According to the declared schedule, in this election EVM will be used in all the 130 centers under MCC.

In the election the last date of nomination papers submission is on April 8, scrutinize on April 10 and last date of nomination withdrawal is on April 17.

EC Secretary said, there are 46 wards under MCC. Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used in all the centers during the election.

Mymensingh was declared as City Corporation in April last year. It is the 12th City Corporation of the country. The decision of turning Mymensingh as the City Corporation was taken at the National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reform (NICAR) meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair held on April 1 last year.
