4 killed in Narsingdi road crash

Four people were killed and 15 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi on Friday morning.

Of the deceased, three were identified as Alauddin, 60, Anwar Hossain, 50, and Rehena Begum, 45.

Shibpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam Azad told RTV Online that a Monohardi-bound passenger bus of Royal Paribahan and a Narsingdi-bound private bus of Safar Paribahan collided head-on in Syednagar area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at around 11pm.

Two people were killed on the spot and 17 others were injured.

The injured were taken to Narsingdi Sadar hospital where doctors declared two of them dead.

Eight of the injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, the OC said, adding that the accident happened due to the reckless driving.
