Pranab Mukherjee due on Sunday

Former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee will arrive in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon on a four day private visit.

According to the Indian High Commission sources, a flight of Jet Air carrying Pranab Mukherjee will land at the Hazrat Shahjajal International Airport at 4 pm on Sunday.

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali will welcome him at the airport.

During his visit Pranab Mukherjee will take part in the literary conference and will hold meeting with President Mohammad Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Besides, the former Indian President will attend the special convocation program of Chittagong University. There he will be awarded honorary D Litt degree.

He is also scheduled to visit the home of Shaheed Surja Sen at Raozan upazila of Chittagong.

Pranab Mukherjee will visit the Bangabandhu Memorial Museam in Dhanmondi 32 to pay homage to Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He will attend a dinner hosted by Finance Minister AMA Muhith during his presence in Dhaka.

He is scheduled to leave Dhaka on January 18.

The 13th President of India Pranab Mukherjee went on retirement in last July.
