The police administration has removed Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner Mizanur Rahman.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said this to the newsmen at the program of Police Week at Rajarbag Police Lines in the capital on Tuesday.

The Home Minister said, reports were published in different newspapers over the incident of Mizanur Rahman. He was removed from the DMP and attached to the headquarters for the sake of a proper investigation.

He said that investigation will begin formally on Mizanur Rahman after completion of police week program.

There was allegation of picking up a woman by force on gun point, getting married and torture her aftermath against DIG Mizan.

Earlier on Monday the Home Minister said that an investigation committee is going to be formed for probing the allegation of getting married a woman forcibly and torture her later against Mizanur Rahman.

At that time Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, internal investigation is going on over the allegation that rose against Mizanur. Steps will be taken if he is found guilty.

The woman told a newspaper that she was residing a house near Square hospital at Panthapath. From there police officer Mizan picked her up in July last year on tricks. She was kept confined for three days at the Baily Road house of Mizan. Then on July 17 her mother was called and she was forced to marry him with 50 lakh taka marriage contract. The earlier married Mizan then kept her at a rented house in Lalmatia with status of wife.

The woman alleged that there was no problem for some months but he got angry when she posted a photograph on Facebook identifying her as wife of Mizan. On December 12 she was sent to jail over a ‘false case’ of vandalism. After her release from jail on bail again a case was filed against her for making false marriage contract.

But Mizanur Rahman was claiming that the woman is a fraud.
