Aircraft’s wheel blast while emergency landing at Shahjalal airport

A wheel of a Thai Airways aircraft blasted while making emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday.
According to the local source, though the wheel blasted but all the passengers were safe.
Senior Assistant Police Super of Armed Police Battalion (APBN) Tarique Ahmed stationed in the airport confirmed the matter to the media.
He said, the Thai Airways aircraft took off from Bangkok and landed in Hazrat Shahjalal airport at around 12:15 pm. The aircraft made its landing a little bit out of the track as there was stagnant water on the runway. For this reason one of the wheels blasted.
Another named Minhaz Uddin Chowdhury said, flight operation was halted more than couple of hours in the airport.
Two passengers of the aircraft said, the pilot tried to make landing for two times. Passengers were panicked at that moment. The sound of the blast was huge.

At least 200 homes burnt in Chattogram’s Firingee Bazar slum
The fire that broke out at the Tekpara and Yakub Nagar slums in Firingi Bazar of Chattogram has been brought under control. The fire has burnt down nearly 200 homes.
The fire service received information about the fire at around 1:20 pm on Monday (April 15). Nine units of fire service brought the fire under control after an hour's effort.
Dinomoni Sharma, deputy director of Chattogram Divisional Fire Service, confirmed the incident.
Local Councillor Murad said that food will be arranged for the affected families who were. Nearly 200 homes have been burnt in that incident.
Sudden rain in the capital
After a few days of sweltering heat, there is a sudden rain in Dhaka. Gusty winds have been blowing with relief rains in different parts of the capital since 3 pm on Tuesday. Although the sudden rain brought relief to the public life, the pedestrians on the road suffered a bit.
The sky was cloudy from 3 p.m. on Tuesday (April 16). Black clouds enveloped many parts of the capital. Half an hour later, it started raining in many places.
Earlier, the Meteorological Department forecast storms with a speed of 80 kmph over five regions of the country including Dhaka.
Meanwhile, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary west or northwesterly gusty or squally wind speed 60-80 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia and Comilla wherein riverports shall hoist cautionary signal no one, said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.

12 more Myanmar BGP members flee to Bangladesh
Twelve more members of Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) and and military personnel have taken shelter in Bangladesh after fleeing through Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban.
They took shelter in Bangladesh through Ashartali, and Jamchhari borders under Sadar union, and Rezu border under Ghumdhum union on Tuesday morning (April 16).
It is learned that they have taken shelter in Bangladesh amid clashes with separatists in the border region. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has disarmed them and kept them under their supervision.
BGB Public Relations Officer, Shariful Islam confirmed the matter. He said BGP members and and military personnel have been kept under the supervision of BGB.
Earlier on March 12, 177 BGP members fled to Bangladesh. They were taken into custody by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
9 more KNF members arrested, arms recovered
Nine more members of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) were arrested from Dhupanichara Para area of 16 East Bengal region in Bandarban. Several weapons were also recovered from KNF members.
They were arrested on Tuesday (April 16) in a raid led by Major Rajib of Sung Sang Para Army Camp.
Nine LGs, nineteen LG cartridges, two mobile phones and two ID cards were recovered from their possession. The area was cordoned off after receiving a tip-off about the location of the KNF terrorists.
Notably, the KNF members carried out terrorist attacks on the bank, looted arms and money, and kidnapped the bank manager, disobeying 'Peace Establishment Committee'.
Severe Heatwave in Chuadanga, heat alert issued
Intense heatwave is sweeping over Chuadanga. The highest temperature in the country has been recorded in Chuadanga for the last two days. People in the border districts are suffering from the heatwave. The number of patients suffering from heat is increasing in the hospital.
The maximum temperature in Chuadanga district was recorded at At 40.4°C at 3 pm on Thursday (April 18). The district administration has issued a heat alert due to the intense heatwave. It is forbidden to go out of the house without much need.
Jaminur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Chuadanga Weather Observatory, said that the intense heat wave may continue for some more days. However, there is no chance of rain.
High Court wants Rohingya voter list
The High Court asked for information about Rohingya voters. Three person including Deputy Comissioner of Cox's Bazar, the Election Commission have been asked to submit this list to the court by June 6. At the same time, 38 Rohingyas have been asked to be removed from the voter list of Eidgah Union of Cox's Bazar.
A High Court bench of justice Naima Haydar and justice Kazi Zeenat Haque passed an order on Wednesday (April 24). The judge issued this order following the writ of local voter Hamidur Rahman.
Supreme Court lawyer Md Siddik Ullah Mia, on behalf of local voter Md Hamidur Rahman, lodged a writ petition with the High Court on Tuesday seeking directives for the exposure of the number of Rohingyas enlisted as voters in Cox's Bazar. Additionally, it called for instructions to exclude them from the voter registry and to halt polling in Eidgaon union until the list is revised.
Advocate Md Siddik Ullah Mia said that 38 Rohingyas have taken National Identity Card (NID) of Bangladesh after being included in the voter list of Eidgaon union.
Truck falls into ditch in Sajek, 6 killed
6 workers were killed and 8 more were injured when a labor truck fell into a ditch at Sajek in Rangamati.
The accident took place at Nobboi Degree area of the Udaipur border road on Wednesday afternoon (April 24).
According to some sources, 14 workers in a dump truck were going to work for the construction of the border road from Khagrachari to Sajek when the vehicle lost control and fell down the mountain slope. 6 people died on the spot, Atulal Chakma, chairman of Sajek Union Parishad confirmed the matter.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Baghaichari Circle) Md. Abdul Awal said that, the police BGB and the army reached to the spot to rescue the injured and the dead.
