Biman to resume Saudi Arabia bound flights from May 29

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced that the Saudi Arabia bound flights are going to be resumed from Saturday (May29). Earlier the Saudi government suspended Saudi bound flight operation from May 20 under different conditions.

Tahera Khondoker, Deputy General Manager (Public Relations) of Biman confirmed the information on Sunday.

She said, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will resume flight operation from May 29 after ensuring hotel and quarantine facilities in Saudi Arabia. But passengers’ seat distribution will be managed based on preference about tenure of visa expiration.

Saudi government imposed new restrictions on May 20 for the workers from Bangladesh. Of the restrictions there were – those who did not take the coronavirus vaccines yet have to remain in compulsory institutional quarantine at hotel with their own expense.

Those who got full dose vaccines of Pfizer-BioNtech, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Moderna or Johnson and Johnson they can remain in home quarantine instead of compulsory institutional quarantine at hotels. In this regard they have to show the documents of taking vaccines. Passengers can get in the Saudi Arabia bound flights if their corona test results come out negative within 72 hours under PCR method. The passengers have to perform corona test two times after arriving in Saudi Arabia.

Mentionable, Biman Bangladesh Airlines authority has requested the Saudi bound passengers to communicate with nearby Biman sales counter for hotel booking, quarantine package and seat reservation.
