Khaleda Zia tested positive for Covid-19: BNP

BNP Chairperson and former prime minister of the country Begum Khaleda Zia has been infected with coronavirus. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir delivered the information at a press briefing organized on behalf of BNP in the capital on Sunday afternoon.

Mirza Fakhrul said, Begum Khaleda Zia is doing well at the moment. Her physical condition is stable. She is taking treatment under supervision of her personal physicians.

Earlier, health directorate informed that Begum Khaleda Zia is tested positive for coronavirus.

It was informed that the sample test report which came out on Sunday showed that she was tested positive for Covid-19. But Khaleda Zia’s nephew and personal physician Dr. Mamun said that the information is not true. He termed the report as confusion.

But the medical report which came into light by the health directorate showed that Begum Khaleda Zia’s sample was collected on April 10 for test at the laboratory of ICDDR,B. Later the sample was tested by RT PCR method.

On the other hand, Senior Information Officer of health ministry Maidul Islam Prodhan said that he had conversation with the health directorate. From there it was confirmed that Begum Khaleda Zia is infected with coronavirus.
