Bangladesh Railway getting new shape

Railway ministry has taken master plan to give Bangladesh Railway a new shape. It has taken measures for feasibility to keep reserved seats in the trains. In this connection new buggies and locomotive engines were imported.

On Thursday at the launching program of the journey of Inter-city Brahmaputra Express train at Dewanganj in Jamalpur Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said, the passenger service in railway has been developed and modernized than the previous period.

The minister said, the construction work of upgrading Jamalpur-Mymensingh-Dhaka rail track into double line will begin soon. Then the journey from Jamalpur to Dhaka will take less time.

On pretext of the direction of the High Court he said, feasibility process is going on to keep reserved seats for women, children, senior citizens and physically challenged people in all the inter-city trains. Necessary steps will be taken in this regard according to the railway laws.

Nurul Islam Sujan said, railway was a neglected sector. But after assuming power the Awami League government has given a new life to this sector.

The program presided over by Bangladesh Railway east zone General Manager Jahangir Hossain where State Minister for Information Dr. Murad Hasan, State Minister for Religious Affairs Faridul Haque Khan and Bangladesh Awami League Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam, MP were present as the special guests.
