Aircraft ‘Shet Balaka’ arrives at Shahjalal airport
The new aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines ‘Shet Balaka’ arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 5:30 pm on Friday. The Dash-8-400 model airplane was manufactured by Canadian firm De Heavyland. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina named the airplane as ‘Shet Balaka’.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali, Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority, Managing Director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and other high officials were present at the airport when the aircraft landed.
Public Relations Officer of civil aviation and tourism ministry Tanbir Ahmed confirmed the information.
The first two Dash-8 aircrafts out of the three have been included in the Biman fleet which were bought based on G to G contract. The number of aircrafts has increased to 21 for Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
