Corona kit inventor Dr. Bijon to come for two years

Internationally reputed microbiologist and inventor of corona tracking ‘Rapid Dot Blot’ kit Dr. Bijon Kumar Shil has got permission to work in Bangladesh. He has got the permission to work for two years as the Professor and Chairman of Microbiology department of GonoBishwabidyalay.

Dr. Bijon Kumar has confirmed that he got the permission by obtaining the mail from GonoShasthay Kendra on Thursday. He is communicating with Bangladesh High Commission in Singapore. If all goes in the right process then he would be available in the country in February next.

Dr. Bijon Kumar, hailing from a peasant family in Natore district of Bangladesh became reputed internationally after inventing the SARS virus kit in Singapore in 2003. He also came in to the light after inventing the antigen and antibody Rapid Dot Blot kit to trace the coronavirus. He led the inventing team that worked in Gonoshasthay Kendra. After completion of the tenure of his work permit and as the government did not extend the tenure of visa, he returned to Singapore on September 20, 2020. He is the permanent resident of Singapore.

But the kit (Antigen and Antibody Rapid Dot Blot) invented by Dr. Bijon to trace the coronavirus yet to obtain the permission to use. Recently the government has showed positive stance about the matter.
