I have put emphasize on strengthening relation with Bangladesh: Modi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, on behalf of all Indian citizens I welcome Bangladesh on their golden jubilee of independence. After taking responsibility of the Prime Minister I have given preference on strengthening relation with Bangladesh.

He said this while participating the virtual meeting with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday.

About invitation for visiting Bangladesh by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 26th March 2021 on the occasion of celebrating Mujib Barsho, Narendra Modi said, it is a matter of great honor to express gratitude to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman during Bangladesh visit next year.

Informing that India’s relation with Bangladesh is getting stronger, Modi said, as a neighbor Bangladesh is very important for us. During the period of coronavirus pandemic our relation with Bangladesh is very cooperative in all fields including medicine, treatment materials, even vaccine. The partnership and bilateral inert-border trade relation between the two countries are strengthening further.

In this virtual summit Bangladesh and India signed seven Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in different sectors including commerce, agriculture, energy and environment. The MoUs were signed at the state guest house Padma in the morning.
