Voting in 25 municipalities on Dec 28

The Election Commission (EC) has announced the election schedule keeping December 28 as the voting day for 25 municipalities in the country at first phase. EC Senior Secretary Md. Alamgir announced the election schedule on Sunday afternoon.

According to the schedule, the last date for submitting nomination form is on December 1, scrutiny on December 3 and last date of candidature withdrawal is on December 10. Voting will take place on December 28.

Md. Alamgir said, voting will take place in 25 municipalities on December 28 at the first phase. At first phase voting in all the municipalities will be held using EVMs.

The 25 municipalities are- Panchagarh municipality under Panchagarh district, Chatmohor of Pabna, Gafargaon of Mymensingh, Pirganj of Thakurgaon, Khoksa of Kushtia, Madan of Netrokona, Fulbari of Dinajpur, Dirai of Sunamganj, Katakhali of Rajshahi, Ujirpur of Barishal, Borolekha of Moulvibazar, Shahjadpur of Sirajganj, Bakerganj of Barishal, Shayestaganj of Habiganj, Sitakunda of Chattogram, Chuadanga sadar, Manikganj sadar, Badarganj of Rangpur, Chalna of Khulna, Dhamrai of Dhaka, Kurigram sadar, Betagi of Barguna, Shripur of Gazipur, Puthia of Rajshahi and Kuakata (Kalapara) of Patuakhali.
