A M Amin Uddin has been appointed as the new Attorney General of the country. He is the running president of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA). The post of the top lawyer of the state fell vacant due to the death of former attorney general Mahbubey Alam on September 27.

On Thursday President M Abdul Hamid appointed A M Amin Uddin as the Attorney General of Bangladesh. AM Amin Uddin has been elected president of the SCBA for the two consecutive terms.

Attorney General is the constitutional post of the country. The Attorney General provides legal suggestions to the government related to the constitution, international treaty and other important issues.
