DU temporarily suspends Sharmin Jahan

The Dhaka University authority has temporarily suspended Assistant Registrar Sharmin Jahan from her post in connection with supplying fake ‘N-95’ masks to the Corona unit of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). Besides she was asked to answer the show cause notice within seven working days.

The university administration informed about the decision through a notice on Sunday evening. It said that Sharmin has hurt the dignity and image of the university.

The notice said, DU Assistant Registrar Sharmin Jahan established her business organization during her vacation without permission of the authority. It is against the rules-regulations of the university and discipline of her service. She has hurt the dignity and image of the university as regular case was filed against her and she is in police remand for supplying fake N-95 masks to BSMMU.

Sharmin got her job in the university’s administration department after completing master degree from Islamic Studies department. She hails from Netrokona district. She is the proprietor of mask supplying organization Aparajita International.
