Speaker Shirin Sharmin’s India visit suspended

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury has suspended her scheduled India visit. She was scheduled to start the visit in India on Monday following invitation from Indian Lokshava Speaker Om Birla. The visit was suspended showing her busy schedule centering the programs of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary.

In this regard Director of public relations department in parliament secretariat Tarique Mahmud told the newsmen that Speaker Shirin Sharmin was scheduled to visit Delhi along with her nine member delegation team. But the program has been rescheduled due to her tight schedule on the occasion of Mujib year celebration. The new date will be fixed any time after March 26 with the representatives of parliamentary team.

Tarique Mahmud said, Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury was scheduled to visit Delhi following invitation from Indian Lokshava and Rajyashava Speakers. During the visit she was scheduled to visit both upper and lower hose of Indian parliament.
