Taka 10 thousand fine for driving bike without wearing helmet

The Road Transport Act-2018 is going to be applied from Friday keeping provisions of 10 thousand taka fine for driving motorbike without wearing helmet and 25 thousand taka fine for not keeping driving license.
It was mentioned in the new law, if somebody drives vehicle without driving license then he will be awarded six months imprisonment or not more than 25 taka fine or both the punishment. Earlier the punishment was four months imprisonment or 5 hundred taka fine.
Besides, there will be not more than two years imprisonment for making, giving or renewing driving license by any person, firm or association without permission of the authority. There is also provision for not more than six months jail or not more than 50 thousand taka fine or both punishment if anybody drives vehicle without registration.
According to the new law, there will be six months imprisonment or not more than 25 thousand taka fine or both punishment if anybody drives vehicle without fitness certificate or using time expired fitness certificate or for driving risky or unfit vehicle.
Besides punishment has been increased in the current law comparing to the previous period. Some punishment and fines are mentioned below-
- Five years imprisonment or not more than five lakh taka fine or both punishment for reckless driving that resulted severe injury or death.
- Highest punishment death sentence if motivated killing is proved.
- Taka 10 thousand fine for not abide by the lane and not wearing helmet.
- Six months jail or 25 thousand taka fine or both for driving vehicle without driving license.
- Six months jail or 50 thousand taka fine or both for driving vehicle without registration.
- Six months jail or 25 thousand taka fine or both for driving vehicle without fitness certificate.

Gold prices hitting record high, breaks all records
Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (Bajus) has fixed the new price of gold.
The price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,750 to Tk 1,15,824 per bhori, according to a notification issued by Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) on Saturday.
Besides, the price of 21 carat gold has been fixed at Tk 1,10,575, 18 carat gold at Tk 94,770. Although the price of gold has increased, the price of silver has been kept unchanged.
According to the notification, the price of gold has increased in the local market. Considering the overall situation, BAJUS has fixed the new price of gold. The new prices will be effective from Sunday (April 7).
Eid shopping reaches its peak

More than 2m SIM card holders left the capital in 2 days
More than 20 lakh mobile phone SIM holders have left the capital in the last two days. This information has been found in the sources of mobile phone operators.
Each SIM card has a code known as an IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) which uniquely identifies the SIM card itself. SIM holders are meant to be different people (unique user). They may be accompanied by elderly men, women and children, who do not use cell phones. As a result, it is difficult to get an estimate of how many people have actually left Dhaka.
According to some sources, more than 20 lakh mobile SIM holders left Dhaka on April 6 and 7. At this time, more than 9.5 lakh SIM holders have entered Dhaka from different districts.
Moon not sighted, Eid on Thursday
The moon of the holy month of Shawwal was not sighted in the sky of the country. As a result, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Thursday (April 11).
The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting committee on Tuesday (April 9) evening.
Eid-ul-Fitr "festival of breaking the fast" will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia and other European countries on Wednesday (April 10) as the moon of the holy month of Shawwal was not sighted in the Middle East on Monday (April 8).
Meanwhile, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in different districts of Bangladesh on Wednesday (April 10) in conformity with Saudi Arabia.
16 lives lost in road crash across country
At least 16 people were killed in road accidents in eight districts of the country. Many others were injured in these incidents.
This information was revealed in the report sent by Rtv representatives from Tuesday (Aprin 9) morning to afternoon.
Mymensingh: Three accidents took place in Mymensingh Sadar, Trishal and Tarakanda upazilas of the district from Tuesday morning to afternoon. Eight people, including three of a family, were killed in the incidents.
Tangail: A man was killed in a collision between a pick-up van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Madhupur in Tangail on Tuesday afternoon. Another person was also injured in that incident.
Dinajpur: A motorcyclist named Babul Hossain (40) was killed in a collision between two motorcycles on Dinajpur-Gobindaganj highway on Tuesday afternoon.
Kurigram: A man was killed in a collision between a trolley and a motorcycle on Kurigram-Bhurungamari highway on Tuesday noon
Besides, two people were killed in Sitakunda and three in Munshiganj, Bogura and Gaibandha. At least six people were injured in the incident.
Metro Rail to remain closed for 2 days during Eid
Metro rail services will be closed for two during Eid-ul-Fitr. As a result, the metro rail movement will be closed for two consecutive days on the occasion of Eid. The day after Eid al-Fitr is Friday. That day is the weekly holiday of Metro rail.
Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan, deputy manager of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), confirmed the matter on Wednesday morning (April 10). He said, according to the previous announcement, the metro rail will be closed on the Eid day. Metro services were also suspended on Eid last year.
Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan said in the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, an average of 2,40,000 passengers traveled daily on the metro rail. Before Ramadan, the number was 295,000. The number of passengers has increased after the metro rail increased by one hour from 16 Ramadan. In the last five days, an average of 2 lakh 90 thousand passengers have traveled.
Moon sighted, Eid on Thursday
Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across Bangladesh on Thursday (April 11) as the moon of Shawwal has been sighted in the sky of the country.
Earlier, the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee was held at 6.30 pm at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Religious affairs minister and National Moon Sighting Committee President Md Faridul Haque Khan presided the meeting.
As the moon of Shawwal month was not sighted in the country on Tuesday, the 30th Ramadan ended on Wednesday. As a result, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Thursday (April 11).
